Driven by passion for Scandinavian homeware, Nordic Designs was created in 2004 by Swedish born Cecilia Holden. 

“Living without Mairo’s divine designs and homeware was not an option for me when I moved to Australia. Therefore I contacted Mairo regarding distribution and then formed Nordic Designs. I also had products from Mateus since many years and they were both natural choices for brands to establish in Australia.

La Shelf co-works with Mairo in Sweden regarding designs and it was yet another natural step to add their products to the range. With these two brands combined Nordic Designs can for example offer a total concept for children's interiors.”

New for 2010 is Pearls for Girls jewellery, a dynamic success brand created by designer Ulrika Fosshagen. A wide range of Pearls for Girls collection is now available in store.

Nordic Designs chooses carefully what brands to offer. Quality is absolute key in from the products we supply as well as the service we receive and offer in return. The relationship with our suppliers and the relationship with our customers is very important. Nordic Designs supply to boutiques and interior designers in Australia and New Zealand.

In 2007 Nordic Designs retail store opened in Wonthaggi, Victoria. With a total Scandinavian feel and look you will find all Nordic Designs imports as well as other exquisite brands such as Danish Pandora jewellery and Swedish jewellery brand Edge of Sweden. We also offer Skagen watches from Denmark and Bjorg jewellery from Norway. In addition we often source products directly from designers in Scandinavia to our retail store in Wonthaggi. These products are therefore not available anywhere else in Australia.

In April 2009 Nordic Designs became a selected Pandora retailer classified as a "gold level" store. This means that you can always be assured to find a large selection of Pandora items, including the LIQUID collection, available in the store.

We choose carefully what to stock in the retail store and then we work the products into the market.  We stock mainly Scandinavian brands but when a good product, with great design and functionality appears we are always willing to test them, regardless of where they come from. Anything with a unique story, quirky look &  good quality you can be sure to find in our store.”
